The Farm Bill is a major piece of legislation that comes up for renegotiation and passage every five years. While it is largely composed of nutrition assistance funds, it also plays an important role in ensuring safety nets for farmers. Dr. Bart Fischer, an economist and farm bill expert from Texas A&M University and I visited to unpack the implications of the bill.
Growing up as the fifth generation on a row crop and cattle operation in Southwest Oklahoma, Dr. Fischer now makes his home in College Station, Texas. Following an extensive career in Washington, D.C., he co-directs the TAMU Agricultural and Food Policy Center.

Dr. Myles Allen is Professor of Geosystem Science in the School of Geography and the Environment and Department of Physics at the University of Oxford. He also serves as director of Oxford Net Zero.
Dubbed ‘the physicist behind Net Zero’ by the BBC, Dr. Allen has served on panels for the United Nations, and travels extensively speaking on the science of climate.
